I love making Sacred Heart art using aluminum repujado—it’s simple, affordable, and so beautiful when finished. The best part? You probably already have most of the supplies at home!

Here’s everything I use to create my Sacred Heart aluminum pieces. (If you purchase through my Amazon links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting my art!)

✨ Materials You’ll Need

Aluminum Sheets

I use aluminum craft sheets, but you can absolutely experiment with aluminum baking trays from the dollar store or soda cans. They work great and are very budget-friendly!

Heart Templates

You can purchase ready-made heart templates, draw your own Sacred Heart design, or print one from Google. Don’t worry about perfection—hand-drawn hearts have so much charm.

Paints & Color Options

This is where you can get creative! Try:

  • Acrylic paint

  • Paint markers.

  • Nail polish

  • Oil paint

  • Glass paint

  • Alcohol-based Sharpies

Amazon:

Each one gives a slightly different finish, so feel free to experiment.

Drawing & Embossing Tools

You don’t need fancy tools for repujado. Try:

  • One sharp pen and one pen that’s not sharp with erase (for different line effects and erased lines )

  • A wooden pencil for creating texture and decorative details like el palillo de Madera para Los vegetables del grill, un palillo de sushi o de elote.

  • Any textured kitchen tools (look around—you’ll be surprised what works!)

Amazon:

Metal Embossing Tools

Pens:

The magic of repujado is using what you already have.

Making Sacred Heart alumin<•✓um art is such a meditative and meaningful process. I hope you give it a try and make it your own. 💛

If you do, I’d love to see what you create!
